Introduction

TSD Surface Drive participated in Asia Pacific Maritime 2026 (APM 2026) at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore — the most influential maritime trade event in the Asia-Pacific region. TSD presented its complete surface drive product range, including the BH series shallow-draft systems deployed in Southeast Asian naval and customs patrol programmes, and the BG series high-speed propulsion solutions for commercial and recreational fast craft. The exhibition provided an opportunity for TSD engineers to engage directly with shipyards, naval architects, and fleet operators from across the Asia-Pacific region, discussing vessel-specific propulsion requirements and demonstrating TSD's ABS and CCS certified

TSD at APM 2026: Naval and Commercial Propulsion in Focus

Asia Pacific Maritime 2026 drew marine industry professionals from over 60 countries to Singapore, covering every segment of the maritime supply chain from vessel design and propulsion to logistics and digital systems. For TSD Surface Drive, the exhibition served as a platform to connect with shipyard procurement teams and naval architects actively specifying propulsion systems for new-build and repower projects across the Asia-Pacific region.

Products on Display

TSD's exhibition stand showcased the full BG and BH series surface drive range, with particular focus on three areas of growing demand across the region:

High-speed naval patrol vessel propulsion — The BH660 and BH750 series, rated for 200–600HP with 10–13 degree shallow installation angles, are increasingly specified for coast guard and customs enforcement vessels operating in the shallow coastal and river environments common across Southeast Asia. TSD engineers provided technical consultations on vessel-specific configurations for multiple shipyard visitors with active government fleet tenders.

Commercial fast ferry and transport propulsion — The BG series, covering 60HP to 1,060HP across five standard models, attracted enquiries from ferry operators and island transport fleet managers looking to reduce transit times and fuel costs on inter-island routes in Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia.

Electric and hybrid surface drive integration — TSD's surface drive systems compatible with electric inboard motors and hybrid diesel-electric powertrains generated significant interest from operators responding to regional emissions regulations and fuel efficiency targets.

Technical Consultations and Enquiries

Over the three-day exhibition period, TSD engineers conducted vessel-specific technical consultations covering hull compatibility assessment, propeller selection, engine-gearbox matching, and installation geometry for enquiries ranging from 8-metre recreational fast craft to 25-metre commercial patrol vessels.

Vessel operators and shipyard procurement teams with upcoming projects can continue these discussions directly with TSD's engineering team.
