Performance Advantage

  • The water intake of the surface piercing propeller is half of the water intake

How To Ensure The Performance Of The Surface Drive System

  • The ability to travel in shallow waters. The only surfaces in contact with water are the propeller blades and the protective tail stern
  • High reliability, most of the important components such as cables, sensors, hydraulic systems, hoses and electrical connections are in the engine room to avoid seawater corrosion
  • Surface piercing propeller design reduces underwater resistance by 50%
  • The immersion can be adjusted to match the horsepower output, allowing more thrust to be converted as needed.

Working Principle

  • The surface drive are working near the water surface,with the blade part time in the water and the other part time spining in the air;
  • The propulsion device located above the water surface, in addition to the drive shaft system containing the propeller, also has a mechanism for adjusting the pitch and heel angle of the shaft system.
  • Adjust the propeller shaft to match the sailing state by adjusting the propeller shaft immersion depth,
  • By adjusting the heel angle to achieve the effect of vector thrust, it can control the course of the boat more powerfully than the rudder propeller.

Vessels And Machine Requirements Using TSD Surface Drive System

  • The hull form must be a planing or semi-planing hull type
  • Engine type is suitable for inboard diesel engines, gasoline engines, hybrid engines, electric and turbines engines.
  • To improve speed, compared to conventional propulsion, the target must be above 25 knots
  • Power/weight ratio must be above 40 horse power per tons.

Production Processes

After assembling the TSD series surface drive propulsion devices, the company implements rigorous quality control protocols to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This process includes precision laser inspections, as well as static and dynamic balance assessments of the machined blades.

Furthermore, the assembled units undergo specific duration idle tests and dynamic load evaluations. To guarantee durability, the company conducts comprehensive load operation tests on both the device and blades within a specially constructed circulating pool. An essential component of our quality assurance process is the bench joint debugging test of the integrated hydraulic control system, which is critical in validating the reliability and overall quality of our products.
