Research & Development Phase
Independent development of TSD-type surface-piercing propulsion system commences. Engineering focus on propeller blade geometry, CV joint driveshaft design, hydraulic trim system architecture, and 316L stainless steel housing manufacturing process.
Patent Portfolio Established
TSD files multiple utility model patents and invention patents covering core surface drive design elements, manufacturing innovations, and hydraulic control system configurations.
Changsha Speed Trial
Official speed trial in Changsha, China. TSD-equipped high-speed vessel achieves maximum measured speed of 78.9 km/h (42.6 knots), validating the surface drive technology's competitive performance envelope.
ABS & CCS Certification Achieved
TSD surface drive systems receive dual classification society certification from ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and CCS (China Classification Society). ISO 9001:2015/2016 quality management certification confirmed.
International Market Deployment
TSD surface drive systems enter commercial service with operators in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. BH and BG series product range covers 60HP to 1,500HP across 13 standard models.
METSTRADE International Debut — Amsterdam 2024
TSD Surface Drive makes its international trade show debut at METSTRADE 2024, the world's leading professional marine equipment exhibition, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands — November 19–21, 2024. The appearance marked TSD's formal introduction to the European recreational and commercial marine market.
Global Operations
TSD surface drive systems are now operational on high-speed vessels across more than 30 countries, including coast guard agencies, customs enforcement fleets, naval patrol craft, commercial sport fishing vessels, and offshore racing platforms. The 13-model product range (BH450 through BH1000, BG550 through BG850) covers virtually the entire planing vessel power spectrum from light recreational craft to large naval fast attack vessels.
TSD's product development is guided by one consistent principle: performance through physics, not marketing. Surface-piercing propulsion delivers its advantages — 15–28% higher top speed, 15–30% fuel reduction, cavitation elimination above 30 knots — because of established hydrodynamic principles that operate regardless of who manufactures the drive unit. TSD's engineering contribution is to manufacture a surface drive system that applies these principles correctly, to the material specifications and dimensional tolerances required for reliable operation in harsh marine environments, at a price point that makes surface drive propulsion accessible to operators who previously could not justify the cost of European-manufactured alternatives.
Every TSD surface drive is manufactured from duplex stainless steel (2205 grade, PREN ≥35) for propeller blades and shafts, and marine-grade 316L stainless steel for the drive housing — the same material specification used in offshore oil and gas equipment designed for continuous seawater immersion. These are not marketing specifications. They are the material choices that determine whether a drive system lasts 10 years or 3 years in tropical seawater service.
